Four autograph letters by prominent 19th century British Prime Ministers, comprising: George Canning (discussing some financial matters and his health, four pages, 8vo, 10 December 1814); Lord Palmerston (letter to Mrs Crester reading "It would, I can assure you, have given me pleasure to score a point in your favour, first out of regard to a very old friend whom I have lost, and secondly out of regard to another person, namely yourself", two pages, 8vo, 18 October 1857); Lord Salisbury (letter to Lord Russell, saying in part "I am very much obliged to you for your kind letter. I am greatly pleased at the approval you are able to give to the selection of Lord Lindley to be Master of the Rolls, four pages, 8vo, Hatfield House, 24 October 1897) and Lord Rosebery (letter to Mr Cornway, two pages, 8vo, 24 November 1899) (4)
