Opaque pigments and black ink on paper glued on thick boards, comprising six Kalighat paintings narrating a local tale featuring a ruler with two sons, one of them shown devotedly praying in front of a temple, next to him a holy cow, the other at sea on a large black Western ship, on the bow of the ship a miniature version of the same temple seen in the previous illustration, two further panels featuring the Hindu god Vishnu on a tiger and a similar-looking tiger feasting on a man also being eaten by a sea snake, almost all paintings framed within a band of beaded red rosettes on yellow ground, the largest panel 51.5cm x 38cm, the smallest panel 25.5cm x 38.3cm.
