AN ANTIQUE KIRMAN LAVER RUG, SOUTH PERSIA

The blue field with diagonal rows of stylised floral boteh surrounded by delicate flowering and leafy vine. In an apricot border of similar design, between ice-blue floral meander and boteh motif stripes. Outer plain stripe. approx, 6ft.3in. x 3ft.11in. (190cm x 120cm). Very good type and well balances colours. Design is well drawn, with bold appearence. This rug has good pile, soft wool quality. Ends with fringes, secured. Salvages rebound, well done. Fine weave 6 x 6 knots per sq.cm. In general, this rug is in very good usable condition. Attractive and very good furnishing piece.
