A large late 19th century German silver nef, Hanau circa 1895 by Neresheimer

Modelled as a Viking ship with sail with wirework riggings, the sail chased with three leopards passant guardant below a crow’s nest and opposable flag. Fitted with eight removable oars. An opposable rudder and a dragon head bow. Marked only to side of front with makers mark, pseudo-Augsburg mark and pseudo 13 loth mark.

Length – 54 cm / 21.5 inches

Weight – 3205 grams / 103.04 ozt
