A pair of ruby earrings, by Mueen Saheed Each basketweave convex disc, centred by a circular-cut ruby within a border of brilliant-cut diamonds, clip fittings, signed Mueen, length 1.8cm Originally from Sri Lanka, Mueen Saheed jewelled creations were exhibited throughout Europe, Asia and America. In 1996 he won the Jewellers of America Jewel Award. This basketweave design is characteristic of his work. In 2007 he shifted his efforts away from jewellery to focus on painting.
