The soft red field with multicoloured florla and leafy sprays together with angular hooked vine enclosing bold palmettes and linking polychrome rosettes around cusped medallion with pendants contianing simialr design with apricot arabesque centrepiece. Floral vase and floral sprays spandrels. In large multicoloured angular palmettes and stylised floral sprays between light bue and ivory floral and arabesque stripes. Outer plain stripe, approx: 441cm. x 311cm. Very good example for this type with lovely design and very good colour combination. This carpet has full pile, very soft and lustrous wool. Ends with short fringes, secured. Selvages original. Tight weqave, 6 x 5 knots per sq. cm. with fine blue cotton weft. In general this carpet is in very good condition throughout. Very attractive and great furnishing piece.
