A documentary early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver biscuit box, Madras circa 1910

Raj period, of barrel form with a pull off gently domed lid surmounted by a ball finial, and opposable swing handle chased with foliate scrolls. The body decorated with swami style work of two bands of dancing divinities (Gandharva) in elongated octagonal vignettes against matted grounds.

Height – 22.2 cm / 8.75 inches

Weight – 403 grams / 12.96 ozt
