A George IV sterling silver gilt vinaigrette, Birmingham 1822 by Robert Mitchell
Of rectangular form with stepped edge and chased foliate rims, reeded sides. Engine turned decoration to lid and base, the lid with a rectangular cartouche engraved with a crest of griffin’s head erased. The interior with a hinged grill with pierced and engraved decoration of foliate scrolls centred with a rosette. Fully marked, the grill with lion passant.
