North America, extinct since 1878, in labelled display box, of Natural History interest,

the feather 50mm in length

The Labrador duck (Camptorhynchus labradorius) was a North American bird; it has the distinction of being the first endemic North American bird species to become extinct after the Columbian Exchange, with the last known sighting occurring in 1878 in Elmira, New York. There are 55 specimens of the Labrador duck preserved in museum collections worldwide

Viktor Wynd.

Acquired by Wynd from the collection of celebrated taxidermist Barry Williams. Acquired by Williams when working on the specimen supplied to Lord Derby, by John Gould on January 16th, 1833. A copy of the certificate of authenticity will be supplied to the buyer, as well as a signed certificate from Viktor Wynd.

The Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities, Fine Art & UnNatural History is a contemporary reinterpretation of a Pre-Enlightenment Wunderkabinett or Cabinet of Curiosities. It is the creation of artist and writer Viktor Wynd, who has just opened a Falmouth branch of his museum inside the National Maritime Museum. His most recent book 'The UnNatural History Museum' was published by Prestel in 2020.
