A late 19th / early 20th century Chinese Export silver biscuit box, Shanghai circa 1900 retailed by Luen Wo

Of cylindrical form upon a short convex foot embossed with demon faces within leaves. The body with pierced and embossed decoration of Chinese dragons chasin the mystic pearl, formed a vacant cartouche, amidst clouds. The pull off domed lid surmounted by a cast and applied dragon head finial; the body embossed in the surround amidst clouds. The interior (liner deficient) with a flat chased and pierced bottom section of a Chinese dragon amidst clouds. Marked underneath with retailer’s mark LW twice and artisan mark HU ZHEN 華珍.
