Opaque pigments and gold on paper, the vertical composition depicting a young prince playing the veena, performing in a pavilion courtyard in front of a crowd of maidens dressed in golden sari skirts and brightly coloured tops, one of them accompanying him with a similar instrument, the others dancing or chatting, the recto with an inscription in black ink Devanagari script reading Hindola Raga, 22cm x 16cm.
