An early 18th century Dutch silver teapot, Harlem 1736 by Jan Verdoes (active 1734-68)

Of pyriform shape, chased with lambrequin, acanthus and shells, the pull-off high-domed lid surmounted by a detachable stained bone finial, the lid similarly decorated. The curved panelled spout with scroll section opposite a C scroll wooden handle pinned to sockets. Marked underneath with town mark, makers mark IVD, standard mark and date letter, script B, the lid unmarked. Also, with scratch weight 18-8.

Weight – 320 grams / 10.29 ozt
