THREE MEDIEVAL IRANIAN POTTERY TILES
Iran, 12th and 14th centuries
Comprising a small, square Seljuk tile, decorated with an interlaced geometric cross design in white, outlined in black, and reserved against a cobalt blue ground, 5.2cm x 5.2cm; and two triangular ruby copper lustre-painted tiles, possibly the extremities of an Ilkhanid wall panel with star tiles, one painted with scrolling split palmette sprays reserved on copper lustre ground, the largest 9.5cm x 6.5cm at widest points.
