AN ANTIQUE QASHQAI RUG, SOUTH-WEST PERSIA

The abrashed blue field with multicoloured angular floral and leadfy vine together with hooke triangles and angular leaves on each side. Rust spandrels with bold hooked palmettes and various angular floral motifs. In brown border of polychorme rosettes and angular floral vine between light blue and sandy-yellow hooked boteh motifs stripes. Outer barver-pole stripes. Checkered skirt at each end, approx: 6ft.8in. x 5ft.(204cm. x 152cm.) Classic for this type with nicely drawn design and good colours combination. This rug has slight localized wear to the top pile, down to knot callar in few places, otherwise good pile. Selvages original, Ends with short kilim and fringes, Very slight discolouration on the field. Despite the imperfections this rug is in good usable condition. Good type and good furnishing piece
