A SAFAVID CUERDA SECA POTTERY TILE Isfahan, Iran, 17th century  Of square form, painted in cobalt blue, yellow, green, white and black, the decoration against blue ground consisting of scrolling vegetal tendrils issuing split leaf palmettes and flower heads, 22cm x 22.5cm. Provenance: Sotheby's London, 12 October 2005, lot 90;      UK private collection since early 1970s.
