AN EXTREMELY FINE NAIN TUDESHK RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA

The ivory field with meandering leafy vine issuing polychrome palmettes and leafy sprays together with stylised boteh motifs and cloudbands enclosing soft red arabesque centerpiece. Spandrels similar. In soft red border multicoloured palmettes, leafy sprays and meadndeign floral vine between light blue arabesque, barber-pole and plain stripes, approx: 5ft.2in. x 3ft.5in.(157cm. x 104cm.) Very good type and lovely kurk wool quality. This rug has full pile. Very good colour combination and well drawn design. Ends original with short kilim and fringes. Selvages also original. Extremely fine weave, approx; 11 x 11 knots per sq.cm. In general this rug is in very good condition throughout. Very attractive and elegant piece.
