A RARE SWANSEA POTTERY COMMEMORATIVE CORONATION MUG, circa 1838, of capstan form with a shell-moulded handle, printed in puce with two portraits of Queen Victoria flanking a crown and the symbols of the Union, titled 'VICTORIA REGINA / Born 24th of May 1819 / Proclaimed 20th June 1837 / Crowned 28th June 1838', 8.2cm high FOOTNOTES: A similar mug is illustrated by W.J. Grant-Davidson, 'The Pottery of South Wales' (2010), p.311.
