Third edition of Della Torre's encyclopaedic work on natural history, which has been described as the most complete and ordered picture of the state of scientific knowledge at the time. Della Torre was a member of the Congregazione dei Padri Somaschi, lecturer in mathematics and physics in various colleges of the Congregation and at the Naples Seminary.
