A George IV sterling silver vinaigrette, Birmingham 1822 by Thomas & William Simpson

Of rectangular form with reeded sides and chased flower head and bunches of grapes rim. The hinged lid and base with engraved bright cut decoration of stylised organic forms, the lid engraved with initials HT in cursive script. The gilt interior with a hinged pierced grill of rosette with foliate scrolls. Fully marked between base and lid, the grill with lion passant only.

Length – 3.4 cm / 1.4 inches

Weight – 14 grams / 0.45 inches
