The robustly-potted vase of baluster form, painted with a continuous river landscape around the exterior, punctuated with a pair of scholars stood on the grassy banks and a fisherman guiding a boat along the calm waters, the tall neck decorated with Buddhist emblems tied with ribbon, the base with a double ring in underglaze-blue, topped with a wood cover and raised on a fitted hardwood stand

PROVENANCE:
Private collection formed in the early 20th century in London. The vase was damaged during World War II, due to the shelling during the Blitz of 1940-41;
Thence by descent.
