A Charles I early 17^th century unmarked silver counter box ‘Sovereigns of England’, circa 1632 by or from the workshops of Simon and Willem de Passe

Of cylindrical form, with pierced open work decoration, the lid with a bust of Charles I style of Thomas Rawlins surrounded by engraved scrolls, the base with Henriette Maria, also within scrollwork. The sides with mythical beasts, heighted with engraving a pierced scrollwork, framed with incised lines. Together with 31 counters: Edward the Confessor, Harold II, William I, Henry I, Stephen, Henry II, Richard I, John, Henry III, Edward I, Edward II, Edward III, Richard II (twice), Henry IV, Henry V, Henry VI, Edward IV, Edward V and Richard III - "BVRIED AT LECHESTER", Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary, Elizabeth, James I and Queen Anne, Charles I, Charles, Prince of Wales; together with Mary, Queen of Scots and Elizabeth of Bohemia. The missing counters are: William II, Prince Henry, Henrietta Maria, Henry, Earl of Darnley, Frederick of Bohemia and Charles Louis of Bohemia, which would made the full set of 36.
