A rare Charles II 17^th century silver thread box, English circa 1680, makers mark only WP with two pellets above and one below in shaped punch (unascribed)

Of circular form with reeded rims, the pull off lid with a rotating disc centre with pierced holes. The underside with contemporaneous initials E * P in Roman script. Makers mark underneath only.

Diameter – 2.7 cm / 1 inches

Weight – 13 grams / 0.42 ozt

This makers mark in found upon a nutmeg grater initialled B*H, previously with How of Edinburgh, sold Wooley and Wallis, 28 Oct 2015, lot 111
