A Thanjavur silver and copper inlaid brass tray, Thanjavur (Tanjore), South India, late 19th or early 20th Century, of octagonal form, with slightly everted flat rim, the repoussé silver and copper-inlaid decoration depicting Lord Krishna playing his flute surrounded by Radha and the cows in a lush forest, the composition framed within a continuous floral scroll with rosettes, the same pattern repeated on the rim with copper-inlaid rosettes, the back plain with hinged hanging hoop, 46cm x 55.5cm
