An early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver twin handled tray, Kashmir circa 1910

Raj period, of rectangular form with re-entrant curved corners and an ovolo edge with moulded rim. The field with a central deep chased rectangular section with re-entrant corners of dense foliage, bordered the same. The ovolo edge with chased rocaille inspired work, the applied wrought twin handles of shaped and straight section.

Length – 57 cm / 22.3 inches

Weight – 1848 grams / 59.41 ozt

A massive Kashmir bowl with this form of decoration, engraved with a British crest, was sold Christie’s South Kensington, 26 March 2013, (£8,125 incl. premium)
