Typed air letter signed ('Stan Laurel'), reading in part "I deeply appreciated your kind thoughts, sentiments and sorrow over the death of my dear friend and partner Mr Hardy. His passing is indeed a sad blow to me after the many happy years of association – I shall miss him terribly, I had great affection for him, God Bless Him, he has left behind a lot of wonderful memories which I shall always treasure” and mentioning a forthcoming book on Laurel & Hardy's career, folding marks, 4to, Malibu, California 24 August 1957
