PORTRAITS OF CHINESE POLITICIANS AND THINKERS, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), c.1880s-1901, including one albumen print of Kang Youwei (1858-1927), and three cabinet cards of Li Hongzhang (1823-1901), his nephew and adopted son Li Jinfang (1855-1934), and the marquis Zeng Jize (1823-1890), photographers include L. F. Fisle (xx), John Thomson (1837-1921), and Alexander Bassano (1829-1913), completed with two handwritten notes in ink, one in English by J. S. Rowland (xx), 1886 and one in Chinese written by Zeng Jie.
