A very large early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver bowl, Lucknow circa 1910
Raj period, of compressed circular form with a fold over rim, the body with embossed decoration in high relief in Burmese pattern, depicting various figures, in traditional Burmese dress some seated upon a dias, each with an individualized face and expression, interspersed with Burmese rosewood trees and rosettes scrolls, all above a border of stylised acanthus leaves, the upper section with an embossed rosette and foliate scroll border, unusually populated with busts holding the foliage. The underside flat chased with an encircled peacock in display.
