A large early 20th century Thai (Siamese) silver bowl, Chiang Mai circa 1930
Of rounded circular form with a fold over rim. The body with high relief embossed decoration of figures from the Ramakien, such as Ravana abducting Sita form her hermitage and carrying her away on his Pushpaka Viman, the obverse with a battle scene with war elephants. All within architraves below a chased border of trailing foliage and band of stylised acanthus leaves. Unmarked.
