The shaded rust-red plain field with ivory palmette vine mihrab above. In broad shaded sandy-yellow border of ralge multicoloured palmettes, delicate floral and leafy vine between blue and red rosette and stellar flowerhead octagon stripes. Outer ribbon and plain stripes, approx: 174cm. x 140cm. Good type with very good colour combinaton. Great design derives from early 18th century Transylvanian group. This rug has slight localized wear to the top pile in small places, scattered repiling very well done and not noticeable, otherwise good pile. Black is slightly corroded. Selvages original. Ends with short kilim and fringes also original. Woven on wool warps. In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Attractive and elegant piece.
