A FINE BIJAR RUG, NORTH-WEST PERSIA

The soft rust field with overall Mina-Khani design of polychorme palmettes and angular rosette vine. In an indigo border of stylised turtle-palmettes and angular floral vine between sandy-yellow floral meander and plain stripes, approx: 233cm. x 146cm. Classic for this type with well drawn and unusual design for this type. This rug has full pile, soft wool quality. Few small old repairs side edges with small resawn weaving fault cut in one corner. This rug was woven on wool warps. One end with original kilim and fringes. Other end with short fringes, secured. Selvages rebound, well done. In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Attractive and popular type on the market.
