AN UNUSUAL GABBEH RUG, SOUTH-WEST PERSIA

The deep indigo field with stylised jewellery, birds, rosettes and hooked panels around central light blue floral lozenge medallion raditating hooked and barber-pole bars to each end and side. In an ivory border of stylised flowerheads and delicate angular floral vine between reciprocal and barber-pole stripes. Checkered and floral skirt on ends. approx; 6ft.1in. 4ft.2in.(185cm. x 127cm.) Very nice design, unusual flro this type. Bold appearance, good colour combinaton. This rug has very slight wear to the top pile in few places, barely visibe,. Selvages original with touches of wool fraying on cord in few small places. Ends with short fringes. In general this rug is in good usable condition. Attractive and very good furnishing piece.
