Provenance
According to the label on the back, commissioned by Miss Hughes-Hallett (1846-1927), daughter of CDR Edward Knatchbull Hughes-Hallett (1809-1861) during British colonial rule in Malta.

The original painting was executed c. 1513–1514, and is now housed at the Palazzo Pitti Collection in Florence, Italy.
