A hairwork and pearl memorial ring, circa 1780 The oval ivory plaque applied with a raised urn formed of hairwork and decorated with half seed pearls, the reverse of the plaque engraved, Jephson Busteed Died 12 June 1779 AG 29 Yrs, to a polished band, ring size N½ The surname 'Busteed' is uniquely regional to Cork, Ireland. There the family held a substantial estate of nearly 2,000 areas in the baronies of Orrey and Kinalea, later incorporating part of what was formerly the estate of King James.  From a private English collection.
