AN 18K YELLOW GOLD POCKET WATCH WITH CHAIN

Date: Circa 1920’s
Movement: Signed Brock, high regulator balance, blued screws, 3/4 plate, No. 6312
Dial: Signed, white enamel dial, black Roman numerals, black outer minute division, blued hands, black outer minute division, subsidiary dial for seconds at the 6 o’clock position
Case: Signed, polished 18K yellow gold, snap on back, 18K yellow gold dust cover for the movement engraved “From Sir Bignell Elliott. K.B.E to his son Hubert Jan.1921.”
Chain: 2 colour 18c punched chain

Sir Bignell Elliot K.B.E donated different items to The British Museum from Africa, between them a lost wax casting in gold of a large uni-facial pendant soul disk from the 19th century, considered by far the largest disc in the British Museum's collection, Af1925, 1024.1 donated to the museum in1925.

B.G. Elliott was an important scholar and member of the Board of Management and president of Appeal in 1901of the Royal Commercial Travellers Schools, Pinner, Middlesex were in 1905, a large new building, the B.G Elliot Hall, designed by H.O Cresswell was erected at the east of the main block.
The Elliott HaIl is now part of the Harrow Arts Centre and the Willis organ is again in use after restoration.)
