A SMALL COPPER LUSTRE AND COBALT BLUE FOOTED POTTERY DISH
Kashan, Iran, 12th - early 13th century

The dish of shallow rounded shape moulded into an everted and flattened twelve-point star-shaped rim, resting on a splayed short foot, the decoration consisting of copper lustre designs painted on a white ground, including a geometric sunburst motif to the centre of the tray, calligraphic panels to the cavetto and floral trellis to the rim, 20cm diam. and 8.2cm high.

A similar footed dish with figural monumental style decoration was successfully sold in these Rooms, 22 July 2020, lot 7.
