An early 19th century Indian colonial unmarked silver butter cooler, Madras circa 1820
Of urnular form upon a domed square section pedestal based raised upon four ball feet, the everted neck with a ovolo rim, the pull off domed lid surmounted by a detachable ball finial. The domed section of foot, main body, and lid with fluted sections. The side engraved with a crest of a hand fesseways, couped above the wrist, holding a fleur-de-lis erect. Cast lion mask handles applied either side with opposable rings. The interior with a lift our hemispherical liner upon a collet foot.
