Baker (Stanley)

Glossy black and white, head and shoulders photograph of Stanley Baker, signed in blue ink by the Welsh actor "Regards and best wishes, Stanley Baker" near the top right corner, some creasing and handling wear overall, 8 x 10". Together with: black ink signature by Rachel Roberts on yellow album page, mounted for display with a black and white photograph of the Welsh actress, overall size 40 x 30cm; together with a card to "Isabel and Arthur" featuring handwritten message by Roberts, thanking them for the lunch they offered and adding "I have to admit you were somewhat more civilised with your hospitality than I was with mine - and yet, you know, it really was most fortuitous...that it should have been you two who arrived just as I'd received the ego-breaking, shattering news that Mr Bond [playwright Edward Bond], and maybe the whole of the fu...ng National Theatre obviously thought I was too frivolous, and possibly too Celtic and/or declasse to grace their nasty little boards. I am now totally recovered and feel that I was too young!! pretty!!! charming!! and generally too nice to work with all those Doberman Pinschers", light creasing and water staining, 20 x 16cm. (3)
