The Sphinx monument is the Great Sphinx of Giza, located near the pyramids on the Giza Plateau in Egypt. It is believed to have been built during the reign of the pharaoh Khafre in the 4th dynasty (c. 2558–2532 BCE) and is one of the largest and oldest statues in the world.

The Great Sphinx of Giza is notable for its colossal size and enigmatic expression, as well as for the mystery surrounding its original purpose and significance. While it is commonly believed to have served as a guardian of the pyramids or as a symbol of Royal power, its exact function remains uncertain.
