A JAPANESE HARDWOOD PORTABLE BRAZIER WITH DRAWERS, NAGA-HIBACHI

Meiji Period - Early 20th Century

The brazier of rectangular prism shape, the top occupied by a small rectangular wood surface and a copper-lined opening which was originally a brazier, the width of the front face fitted with five drawers with hinged metal pulls, two below the brazier portion, and three adjacent to the short side of the brazier below the rectangular wooden top, the two smallest faces of the naga-hibachi fitted with kōzama-shaped recesses for carrying.
