Formed as a phoenix in flight with spread wings and a three-pronged tail, the body surmounted by a three-tiered flower, all decorated with kingfisher feathers, blue, red and orange textile, and set with simulated translucent stones, the eyes, flower, and tip of the tail set with faux rubies, the bird clutching a pendant fringed with strings of imitation pearls and teardrop-shaped red stones in its beak,

the phoenix 20cm long, 23cm long overall

Kathy Hall 李惠馨 (Churchill Fellow, 2004) is an experienced arts administrator, promoter, presenter, teacher and practitioner of Jingju (京劇 Peking Opera) and Kunqu Opera (崑曲) in London. She is known for her work UK-wide with the former London Jing Kun Opera Association (2002-2014).
