A 19TH CENTURY CARVED EBONY & IVORY PLAQUE probably French or Italian, likely circa third quarter of 19th century, the central circular ivory medallion depicting the figure of the Laocoon, this mounted in an ebony plaque of oval form further mounted in a rectangular frame, richly carved with acanthus scrolling and rosettes, torches and a floral border, mounted in a glazed gilt frame with a yellow silk backing, the plaque 31.5cm high x 28.5cm wide, 46cm high x 43cm wide (including frame)
