SEVEN PALESTINIAN IZNIK-STYLE POTTERY DISHES

Comprising six shallow dishes, each resting on a short straight foot, the seventh also shallow but rising to a gently flattened rim, all seven underglaze painted in a slightly different combination of turquoise, cobalt blue, Armenian bole red, yellow, and green, with black outlines, all painted on white ground; two dishes decorated with a stylised bird with a long neck fashioned from leaves, encircled within a tuft of carnations, holding a flower in its mouth, the design of the dish inspired by Ottoman Iznik pottery examples, the larger dish 23.5cm diam.; two dishes decorated with carnations, tulips and rosette branches, the larger of the two also with a central curving saz leaf; another dish with a similar design of hatayi flowers and rosette stems emanating from a single tuft of leaves, in the centre a lobed cartouche filled with fish-scale motif and topped with a blooming carnation, the larger dish 27.3cm diam.; the final two dishes with geometric and floral designs each emanating from central rosettes, the larger 26.7cm diam.
