A mid-19th century Indian colonial silver christening mug, Madras circa 1840 by George Gordon and Co (acitve c. 1822-42)
Of baluster form upon a domed circular foot. The handle formed as a serpent wrapped around an acanthus capped C scroll. The lobed lower section of body with chased decoration of rosettes and leaves reserved with textured decoration, repeated on the foot. Gilt interior. Marked underneath only with mark G.G & C.
