Each of deep rounded shape, resting on a short circular foot, reminiscent of Chinese blue and white porcelain rice bowls, each painted in cobalt blue under a transparent glaze against a white ground, the bowl with a scalloped rim decorated with a central medallion on the interior featuring a crane and another bird by a pond, the exterior with interlocking vegetal sprays and a lobed band alternating stylised seated figures and floral stems with dense foliage, 17.5cm diam. and 8.5cm high; and another similar bowl with a smooth rim, decorated with a chrysanthemum head in the centre of the interior, and a stylised Asian-inspired pond or Chinese garden scene with butterflies and oddly shaped scholars' rocks, 18.5cm diam. and 8.5cm high.
