A PAUL MILET SEVRES IZNIK-STYLE PORCELAIN VASE
Sevres, France, circa 1900 - 1930
Of compressed pyriform shape, resting on a short straight foot, with a compressed globular body rising to a tall tubular neck gently everted at the top with a wide circular rim, underglaze painted in an Iznik-inspired palette of turquoise, blue, green, and red, outlined in black, all on a white background, the body featuring four stylised medallions filled with fish-scale motif, framed within a crown of intertwined carnation stems, the neck repeating the fish-scale motif and with a rock-and-wave-style motif below the rim, the base drilled in the centre through a green stenciled mark featuring the initials and word 'MP Sevres' set within a dotted circle, 32.5cm high.
