-
NOTE:
Reminiscent of earlier white wares from the Gongxian and Xing kilns of the Tang Dynasty, this delicate little water pot is probably from the Cizhou kilns, exhibiting a glassy clear glaze suffused with fine craquelure over a creamy white slip. See a related pot sold at Bonhams Hong Kong, 2 – 15 December 2023, lot 47 (sold for HK$30,720 inc. premium). A larger example, with a similar lobed construction, is housed in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum, acc. no. FE.16-2001.0
