Iran, 19th century
Comprising a panel of Persian nasta’liq calligraphy in black ink on paper, the qalam nib nearly 6mm., in chalipa diagonal lines, within broad cloudbands illuminated in floral sprigs against a gold ground, the gold-illuminated border of azurite blue within turquoise and red rulings, in ruled cream mount, framed and glazed, the folio 31.5cm x 20cm, 54cm x 41cm including the frame; another panel, in pale green and pink borders, in cream mount, framed and glazed, the folio 14.5cm x 12.5cm, 34.5cm x 32cm including the frame; another panel, in sepia ink on marbled paper, varnished, in polychrome rules, laid on mount, framed and glazed, the folio 23cm x 14.7cm, 32.3cm x 26.2cm including the frame; and the last one, in cream ink on sepia paper, roughly striped in a semi-transparent wash, some words in gold, within teal blue border, in cream mount, framed and glazed, the folio 19cm x 11.5cm, 34cm x 28.7cm including the frame.
