AN ANTIQUE HAMSEH RUG, SOUTH-WEST PERSIA, approx: 208cm. x 165cm. Classic for this type with three hooked and linked pole medallions, flanked by various floral motifs and birds. Well balanced colours. This large rug has very light touches of wear to the top pile, barely visible. Charcoal-brown is slightly corroded. Otherwise good pile, soft wool qualty. Woven on wool foundation. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, very slightly fraying. In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Nice example for tribal weaving.
