FOUR SAMSON PLATES AND A TEA URN AFTER NELSON'S SERVICE PATTERN, 19TH CENTURY, each decorated with oak leaves and swags inscribed ‘Nelson, San Josef, 22 April’ centred with the coat of arms for Nelson (5)
Notes:
The original service was probably presented to Nelson by the City of London in 1802 and was decorated in London using Coalport and French Porcelain blanks. The original pieces use a faint transfer-printed outline for the armorial centres, later copies such as this lot being entirely handpainted
