A Charles II sterling silver miniature or child’s porringer, London 1660 by Gilbert Shepard (free 1631, d. 1667)
Of rounded baluster form with applied twin wire work scroll handles. The body with embossed stylised leaves against a textured ground. The underside with a punch work rosette. The obverse with a later 19th century engraved crest of a cubit arm erect holding a scimitar above traces of initials. Fully marked near rim.
